Caviar should be served cold. Caviar can be served straight from the tin, or atop a traditional blini with creme fraiche. Caviar is also often used as a garnish on other dishes. Regardless of how it is presented, caviar should be handled carefully, this can be done using pearl spoons (also for sale at Persian Caviar), as this neutral material does not adversely affect the taste of the caviar.

When you order online from Persian Caviar, your caviar is sealed and it is already prepared for you to enjoy – just serve it immediately with one of our other products (blini, king crab or smoked salmon) to ensure a delicious experience. For best results, maintain the temperature by placing the can in crushed or shaved ice.

When deciding which drinks to serve with caviar, it is important not to overpower its distinct flavor profile. For this reason, we pair our caviar with our own gold leaf vodka, champagne or dry white wines such as Chardonnay. But as you continue to develop your taste for caviar, don’t be afraid to branch out and experiment – you may come across a great cocktail or wine pairing.

Unopened cans of caviar should be stored in the coldest part of your refrigerator (usually a drawer reserved for vegetables). However, take care not to freeze the caviar so as not to disturb its delicate texture. The ideal temperature for storing caviar is between +4 and +1 degrees Celsius.

On average, your can of caviar will keep for between two and three months. Caviar should be removed from the refrigerator 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Once opened, leftover caviar can be stored in an airtight container and kept in the coldest part of your refrigerator for up to two days.

We recommend ordering no less than 50 grams for every two people you wish to serve. Each serving should be at least a full teaspoon, whether served on blini or crackers, or enjoyed directly from a can. This ensures that the full flavor profile of the caviar can be experienced with every bite.

Caviar is prized for its nuanced and subtle flavors. Each variety tastes slightly different, but the most common words used to describe the taste of caviar are nutty, rich, briny, slightly spicy and creamy. The best way to discover the taste of caviar is to taste different varieties yourself, that way you will discover your favorite.
